I knew I shouldn't have gone!
I came home with 7 'Aracuana chicks' and 16 'mixed bantam chicks'. Plus 12 Australorp bantam eggs (I have been keeping an eye out for these, so think I can be excused) and 3 large plastic feeders (cheep).
I have no idea on how old the Aracuanas are, but they are quite big and quite wild! Expect photos for advice on sexing/colours/age tomorrow.
The bantam chicks are lovely, about the same size as my Wyandotte and La Fleche chick that are 3 days old. They have a bit of feathering starting to show on their wings, how old do you think those could be? |

A lot of hatching eggs and a white TNN cock from Fenn. I even managed to work out that there is enough space for all bar three of the eggs in the incubators.
Got home to find that all 6 of the Croad Langshan bantam eggs from Ross sale have hatched and the 2 viable cream legbars (they'd suffered in the post). And the foster broody is quite happy to have them stuffed under her as they dry out. |

I brought 2 broodies, a Pekin and a Silkie. They were sold with '10 eggs', but had a few more underneath them. 5 of the Pekins and 8 of the Silkies appear fertile. Hoping to gte one of them to hatch out my turkey eggs.
Also brought a Gold Silkie Trio (my mother wanted a couple/few Silkies - she didn'nt reckon in a cockeral ).
Plus a rabbit hutch/broody coop and 2 heat lamps.
I wish I had brought one of the Sebright trios, as they are on my wish list and appeared cheep( )? Alas, I would have had nowhere to put them, and they would have overnighted ion the bath until my dad would chainsaw me some wood tomorrow. |
