Hi all,
The eggs have been in 6 days now so last night I candled for the first time. Of my 11 eggs, only two are doubtful though it's very early and they do have veins but I though they had the blood ring so not sure if they are dead or alive. But 9, count 'em, 9 have tiny embryos wriggling in them, fine air sacs and a lacing of veins. I am absolutely blown away!
(As you can probably tell, this is my first attempt to incubate! )
I'm getting very broody, I feel like their Mom! Hats off to your cockeral, Greentree, he's paying his way! |

It really is amazing putting eggs that you would normally eat in a plastic box, 21 days later fluffy little living things! |

Update: Official 7th day candling showed 10 of 11 with moving embryos, 1 is doubtful.
Minor crisis last night when OH boiled the kettle which must be faulty and blew the sockets fuse/breaker on our fuse board. I was almost running across the road with an incy full of eggs when I managed to get it sorted. All I have to do now is teach him how to do it!!! |
