Hi everyone, I know DIY incubators have been covered before, however, I was wondering if anyone's made an incubator using a fishtank heater?

i have a fishtank filament heater, and it overheats in air and the glass cracked. Still, I was wondering if anyone's managed to make one and has any tips? I'm not experienced at DIY so detailed instructions would be helpful.

Thanks

Agreed^ the costly part is usually the heat regulator/thermostat. To generate heat all you need is a bulb.

Thanks for all the help, I'm going to try and get a thermostat from the diy shop in that case. I was hoping the fishtank heater would be ok as it's already thermostat controlled, but I guess not. Cheers.

Thank you, that's a fantastic website. Now I need to borrow my friend's soldering iron, and I'm all set. Thanks.

Brilliant site, the instructions are excellent, but I understood that there should be a fan in the incubator???
