Now I am hoping to get my Chickens in about 2-3 weeks. So just planning ahead in regards to feeding them. I've been reading comments on here(Very helpful) in the pub last night one of my mates made reference to feeding them peelings off spuds, parsnips, swede, carrots etc.

Is he winding me up?

That's what he said, I've just done the Sunday dinner, loads of peelings so that was why I asked.

Thanks for the quick answer.

my chickens ignored peelings Sad I think I'll try them mashed up next time as they do love mash.

The reason the potato peeling need to be boiled is to get rid of the green that you can get on the skins, that contains poisonous chemicals that are broken down by the heat - you only really need to take it to 80dec C but unless you have a thermometer handy boiling is best.
