i have 11 chicks which are about 6 days old
i am hoping to raise them as table birds
at the moment they are in a separate barn from my other chickens just with the broody
at what age can they manage without their mum and when should i change their food over from chick crumb or can i just add some ground corn to it
if i fence off a run outside could they go out now and come back in at night?
if i separate them will they still need a heat lamp?
also can i put in lettuce for the broody or is it bad for the chicks?? |

| mum will decide when she has had enough of the kids.........usally about a month .......dont change the food till mum leaves.....no additions ..then gradually change to growers pellets ...outside after two weeks but watch the weather.......mum and chicks go out together only when fine .......lettuce have for your salad not give to chicks |
