Got my first chickens on Saturday from Forsham Cottage. Really please with the Ark that I got from them. I've got 4 Warrens and they are already laying.
Day 1
1 in the delivery crate
2 in the roosting area ( presume the travel disturbed them and put them out of routine
Day 2
4 in nest box
Already had my neighbour phone me and put and order in for eggs.
I've now got a nice hole/dust bath in the middle of the lawn. I was aiming on moving the ark every day, the chickens seem to be very good at removing the weeds/clover, but now I'm not too sure.
Got 2 chioces I think, 1 get a scratch mat for under the ark, or 2, put a dust bath in the run area. |

Welcome to the forum!
Your chickens will make a dust bath pretty much where they decide they want one, sometimes right next to the one provided............
As well as weeds and clover, they'll try eating almost anything they can reach, so get ready to say goodbye to your lawn!
Happy hen keeping!

Day 3
4 eggs again in the nest box.
The girls seem to know me now, when I go out to see what they are upto they come up to me in their cage. I tried walking around the cage and they just followed me. |
