We went to collect our new additions yesterday, one Silver Grey Dorking, a feisty little madam who is to be called Janey, from a lovely little smallholding just outside Lutterworth belonging to Sue Taylor. She has Dorkings (Dark, Red and Silver Grey) and some Sussex (Red and Speckled). The we moved on to the world renowned Buff Orpington fancier Robert Coates (aka our very own Knobby) to pick up a lovely little girl to be known as Dusty.

Photos will be posted as soon as it is sunny/bright enough (of the new chickens not Knobby - sorry to have excited the ladies Laughing )

They certainly seemed to.

Janey has gone around the whole paddock exploring, and when the others challenge, she's battled back and seems to want to not be bottom of the pack.

Dusty has spent most of her time eating. Lots. She's glued to the food hopper. When one challenges her, she says "Oh, alright then" and continues eating. Even Lucy, the tiniest, seems to have her below them.

They seem to be OK when let out to range with all the others this morning, Dusty found the food!

We had some jumping and flapping from Janey who is determined not to be bottom of the pack, but nothing I need to worry about. Dusty was as you far predicted more docile and didn't seem to care about the pecking order only her stomach. I'll go back up and check on them later.

Nige

P.S. Good to meet you Robert, have a good time in Greece next week
