Wasnt there an article on these in the Smalholders mag the other month? I forget what they are called (some unpronounceable Hungarian name ) but with costs spiralling, it may be worth thinking about as they are very hardy Shearing costs are a bit of a bugger though |

Hello all
We have recently purchased 3 mangalitza's (hairy pigs), and have another on on the way next week. Does anyone else who uses the forum have any?
They have a fantastic character and are very friendly. We purchased our original 3 from Scotland. Our new one is coming from Gloucester. When we arrived to collect the pigs there was quite a bit of snow and they are unfazed by the cold. The heat is another thing entirely, when it is hot they spend most of the day in wallows keeping cool.
Our two guilt's are in pig, (hopefully). so with a bit of luck we will have blonde piglets soon. [/spoiler] |
