I've just let the girls out to free range and they've actually run up the garden path to get to the spot under the new wild bird feeders!! Are they trying to tell me something about the expensive, organic layers pellets I feed them? Laughing

Of course they are, they prefer something that isn't always available.

I have always wondered if it is safe for them to eat sunflower oilers. I know that the wild birds remove the shell, but I suspect the hens would just eat the whole thing. Does anyone know if that would cause a problem with their crop?

my TNN 'Buffy' has pulled 2 of the bird feeders out and emptied them. Greedy madam that she is lol
She's a proper fattie bless. The others (Welsummers) get excited when we pick up a spade. and they stand around waiting for us to start digging
Laughing They also learned very quickly that the kids will always give them treats if they just stand and stare at them lol
