hi im new to this forum but i hope you can help me.
we got 4 lovely bantams yesterday only born jan so not too big yet.
we have a lovely large coop and big pen around it with chicken wire.
only prob is our cat has been eying them up and loitering around in hunt mode.
so now im worried to let them out the coop in case she attacks !!!
we did have chickens before and she never bothered with them but because these are a bit smaller i thinks she thinks great !!
what can we do i so silly and got excited with the bantams i forgot about the cat.

Arm yourself with a water pistol and 'shoot' the cat whenever it shows interest in the bantams. Of course, the 'poor Murphy' post would work for a cat too. I'd thought my Burmese was too posh to use the sort of language she did when she met an electric net.

How old are the bantams? It might be that they are still acting like young birds which can set off the prey drive more easily.

If your cat doesn't settle down, then the water pistol will work.
mine ignore all my hens now right down to pekin size, although I've seen them stalking seagulls
