How old is she?
How long have you had her?
Has she been eating and drinking as normal? |

Hmm, if she's eating and drinking okay, and her comb is erect I too am not sure.
How long has she been "down"? |

| I don't worm my hens, so don't know what "a course of VermX" entails. Has she been like this throughout the course? |

Morning.
I have just come back from the vet. Not their sort of animal, but while I was there I noticed a parasite!!!!!!
The vet has taken one and is going to identify it, then hopefully it can be treated.
It wasn't a red mite, anyone have any other ideas? |

| Dont worry too much about which particular crawlie it is - apply frontline - spray on with prescription or the spot on without. Neither licenced for poultry, but used by a number of people. Failing that, get some louse powder (or Nippon Ant Powder) and dust her all over. The ant powder is both cheaper and easier to find! |

Aaaggghhhh - I answered a post the other day. . . . somebody ? (Aunty Katie?) was asking you Henwife about using Nippon and I (who has a house overrun by ants every summer) only ever use the liquid, completely forgetting there was a powder as well. Tried to find the relevant post to correct myself and apologize and grovel (as you do) I'll go back now and have another looksee

Aunty Noo - I've just found the post |

| I only discovered that Nippon was a powder when I needed it for hens! I can remember the liquid from childhood and didn't realise they did any other form. |
