A site we regularly browse who sell a variety of pheasants and poultry (along with all sorts of other animals like wallabies and llamas) is http://www.fermedebeaumont.com/
They are based in Normandy and deliver in France. |

Are you incubating pheasants or peasants
My instructions say,
24 - 27 days.....same temp (37.7C) and same humidity. |

Our neighbour has just given us a load of pheasant eggs - good job the broody I tried to "break" before going away is still determined to sit, despite being hoofed off her eggs all the time we were away!!
So, done a re-shuffle, taken 9 hen eggs from 'bator, taken out the dividers, and stuffed the pheasant eggs in there with the other hen eggs!!
Good thing MOH is making me a still-air hatcher I'm gonna need it!! |

Knowing our neighbour, a mix of "ordinary" and red-golds. He didn't say, and so far we haven't asked. Seemed kind of rude to, when he just turned up with 16 pheasant eggs for us!!
So I guess we'll have "wait and see" pheasants!
BTW, in readiness for the big day, do I feed chick crumb? At what age do they go onto grain?
Another exciting learning curve coming up!!! |
