Isn't it awful when you have to worry about thieves and low life trying to earn a buck Evil or Very Mad I have put signs up" Beware of the dogs" on all my gates!! My postie and all the people I care about know but any deterrent to keep our "Family" safe is what I'll do. I am also investing in some good locks for my runs. Most important is the neighbourhood watch as we are all spread out we find we look out for each other and any odd bods watched like a hawk (No window twitchers thou Very Happy ) Local rural police called couple days ago to advise outbuildings of neighbours broken into so people rummaging argghh!!! Its when you have land seperate from the house that must be a bigger worry for folk on here. Here's to safe chooks everywhere Wink

Guinea fowl make pretty good watchdogs and are very noisy when anything untoward disturbs them at night.

It has been a hectic week I was contacted last weekend by a family in shropshire and confirmed that their chickens - Silkies and pekins had been stolen. These were pet birds of a five year old! the family were in the Shropshire Star and then I helped them on Radio Shropshire to raise awareness of chicken thefts, I then had an interview yesterday on BBC radio 4 on farming today. I was hoping that by raising awareness we could help prevent anymore large thefts, but I have seen on another forum more birds have been stolen in Hampshire Sad
