Well my nice new neighbours got their chooks and we fenced of the gardens together so the chooks could run over both our gardens and we then bought our ducks, coop etc, alls well yes?
No!
about a month on our neighbours decide chickens aren't for them and decide to get rid!
this leaves us with four ducks which we now have to contain on our garden only..
Compensation is that we have gained the 4 chooks. I am going to modify my duck house by putting in perches and laying boxes, will they then all be happy together?
thanks

Can't answer your question though as I don't keep ducks. |

the ducks all go in the barn, along with the turkeys and some of the hens. they all get fed the same - there's no choice here
you just have to watch for the ducks being covered in hen poop from being underneath the perches |

| Ours go in together at night and the ducks have learnt not to sleep under the perches - wisest thing they have learnt so far |

| We keep hens and ducks although it is not what we planned in winter the chickens choose to roost in the duck shed. Perhaps it is warmer. |
