Has anyone got any experience of using sonic rat deterrents? Do they work and are they safe to use around chickens? I mean do they disturb the girls as well - if that is the case then they are obviously not an option!
Many thnaks

| I have heard good things about them - they also keep cats and dogs away but I'm not sure about their effect on chickens. |

We have 3 - the first one cleared the garage of rats within 48 hours and they have not re-appeared in 6 months - we have 2 in the chicken shed and there the rats/mice seem to have moved on, only seen 2 so far this year - last year they were all over the place.
Have no impact on the dogs, cats, chicken, ducks or geese
Would not be without them - more effective than traps and also safer than poison
Hope that helps |

| Many thanks for the information. I think I'll give them a try. |
