What time do your girls go to bed ? I have noticed mine come in about 7:00pm have a natter to each other then one by one go into the coop 10 minutes later,they looked so sweet going off to bed,not sure what time they get up tho.

in the summer mine tend to get to bed at 11.30 /midnight and get up at 1.30am
we don't get a lot of night up here in the summer Wink

Yes im really enjoying them,im down the garden every available moment,sometimes i just pop down before i go work to say good morning to them.What i like is when i approach them i say "hello girls" and they start clucking like they are saying "oooh mums here",i love it.
I know what you mean about the night time in your neck of the woods as i have been there myself and at one point it didnt really get dark at all,was very strange.

Daisy and Dotty D'uccle (Belgians) go into the pen about 7-pm, they mooch around there with the Black Rocks and have a chatter together before going to bed around 7-30pm followed about 8pm by the Black Rocks - Chatters and Bossy (named for obvious reasons!!) Very Happy

I'm quite strict with mine, the turkeys go to bed about 5.30 and the chickens about 6.00. They get to stay out later on a weekend though Rolling Eyes

Mine are up at 7am and go to bed around 9.30pm and even then there is the odd one that doesn't want to go Laughing

- it will get later and later now as the nights get longer.

Mine go to bed just as the sun disappears behind the trees at the bottom of the garden - at the moment it's about 8.30. They get up when I let them out, invariably between 7 - 8 a.m.
It's comical to watch - they have a set order (not the pecking order, which surprised me) and when they're all in the smallest one, Snowbell will come out and have a quick scout round as if checking for stragglers, then scoot back inside.

The chooks go to bed at sunset, the ducks and geese refuse to go to bed until after dark, however I have rigged up outside lights and when I switch them on they head for the own little cabins I just have to close the doors.

Too dodgy here with stone martins to take a chance of leaving them out - we have 4 large pekins that refuse to go to bed but our neighbour thinks they are to big for the martin to take on.

Ours used to go to bed whenever I chose to feed them; however the teenagers have other ideas, and won't come in for the evening feed Sad

. Bit of a shame, as, like James, we do have stone martens round here, and it's nice to know that, on the occasions we go out for an evening, that the birds are all safely tucked-up for the night before we go.

The duck and her ducklings refuse to go to bed before dusk, mind.

Mine are let out by the automatic door at 6.30am and they tend to bed down around 9.30, the door closes them in about 10.30. Millie, the bully, organises a very orderly queue at the door, keeping my little welsummer outside long after the others have hopped up on the perch, it's only when she's dozing off that Summer can finally sidle in beside them. Ours are going away just on 9 o'clock at the moment, last night however they decided to roost outside which they have never done before, we came home at 1 am to find them asleep outside in their covered run, don't know why though!

It was a lovely warm day here yesterday, Fletch. Maybe it was too warm for them in the coop????
