Hello everyone.

I have a home-made incubator at home that has 9 hen eggs keeping warm.
I have candled them recently and 8 are looking good Very Happy

Due date is 2nd May, which is a Friday, a work day, Crying or Very sad so I will probably miss some spectacular happenings Evil or Very Mad
In order to overcome this I have setup a webcam, that is currently updating every 5 minutes but will be running on a 60 second update from the 2nd May.

****UPDATE****
The first chick hatched at about 06:15 this morning and is doing just fine.
3 more to go hopefully Very Happy

You will need to refresh every 5 mins the page to pick up the very latest...
or you can go here
Incubator webcam where it will auto refresh at approx 5 minutes.

If you are interested in watching can you let me know in this thread and I'll keep things going once I get home. Cool
Any suggestions will be greatly received

Regards

Danny

The pipping egg is a cuckoo maran x (columbian blacktail x silkie cross cockerel) we also have a white leghornxRIR, RIR, french maran, light sussex and bluebird.
The LS egg look to be clear Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
I think we have a chance for four chicks out of the 9 eggs in the home made incubator.
Is that good?
How long does this pipping last?
I want it out ... NOW!!! Shocked Very Happy
Whoopps sorry, getting too excited Laughing

Well the pipping started at about 18:30 last night and at approx 06:15 this morning there was a burst of cheeping and lo and behold the first chick was out.
It has still to fluff up so is wandering around the incy giving the others what for!
Even now we can see the fluffy feet from the father.. bless.

Fingers crossed for the others, we have started saving eggs for the next batch, bigger this time, hopefully 18+ Very Happy

Being our first time with any success we are hoping for 3 more. There were 9 eggs to start but one was obviously clear and has been removed.
The other 8 have all shown signs of progress but on day 18 only 4 looked "full" the others only looked half full.
Today is day 21 so there is still plenty of time and "Kit" as this one has been named by my 3 year old is cheeping at the others quite merrily to "hurry up you lot!" - hopefully they will listen.
Cheers

Danny
