Checking my records to see what breed was sporting a pink leg ring (still don't know) I notice I have some eggs due to hatch on Saturday. Panic. The brooder shed calander said transfer to hatcher on Saturday. I'm getting old....

It's worse than I thought. The ones due to hatch on Saturday weren't even listed on the brooder shed cataloge. There are another 15 eggs due to go in to the hatcher on Saturday as well as the ones that got there rather late last night. A case of 'Go forth and multiply the accommodation available' I fear.

HW if it was me I would convert your little spot room like this:

Tilting floor and heated roof with humidifier

So you put the eggs in racks on the shelves and set off the tilting floor and turn up the heat and have a humidifier in there, then at 18 days turn off the tilt up the humidity. At 21 days and all eggs hatched just turn on the heated roof to a second level and voila, all your problems solved Laughing And, as they grow they can eat their shells Laughing Laughing

I am sure your OH can come up with something, he is very good at building unusual things Wink

Don't give OH ideas for a new project. He's just finnished rebuilding an ancient Landy from the wheels up, sorted out the garage/workshop & I'm hoping he'll log the bird cherry and birch before they rot where they fell.
6 new banties so far - 3 TNNs & 3 Welsummers.
