The pesky little Rabbits made a daring night time raid on my wired off veggie patch last night and gobbled up all my cabbages and two asparagus plants We thought we had dug the chicken wire in far enough but obviously not. Any other remedies? OH is talking about mines, those aparagus were dear to his heart. Viv |

| Oh it is just so annoying OH will have to get out there this evening and strengthen the defences. Trouble is some of them are hares, not rabbits and they are really strong. Groooaaaaan. Viv xx |

Are they going under or over. My veg garden has 4ft high wire all round, its not dug in but laid out along the ground about 12 inches out, like L, to stop them digging under. I used to see the rabbits run at the fence and go straight up and over the top into the veg garden untill OH added an extra bit like an overhang to the top, like L upside down. That stopped 'um
Shame about your plants but its not too late to start again with the cabbages |

Thats a more difficult one I had a look round a wonderful veg garden some years back and they had blocks of coal tar soap hanging every where. The owner said the smell stopped the deer from going in. |

| And then there's the chickens... We've tried to chicken proof the veg patch, but the scots greys still can fly high enough! they love any sort of brassica.... |

I remember that my Mum used to use a product called Renardine which kept everything off. Rabbits, cats etc and when she soaked the seeds in it the mice kept off as well. I have just found out that our nanny government has stopped the use of that as well as all the other useful stuff out there. |
