Good luck with your new incubator and eggs. I am almost the same as you as I recently borrowed a friend's incubator and managed to get 2 chicks from the 3 I put in. I have now bought my own and currently have 24 eggs incubating. They are 12 Plymouth Rock bantams, 6 Lavender Araucanas and 6 Barnevelders It's so addictive!! |

Glad you got your incubator at last JustChickens.
Now the next wait will be 21 days 'til they hatch! Don't wear a hole in the carpet. |

| Run the incubator for at least 24 hours before putting eggs in. Remember that every time you adjust the temperature, it will take time to register. If you haven't got the instructions, you can download them from the Brinsea website. Bantam eggs are 21 days I'm afraid, although occasionally they hatch a day early - what breed are you getting? |

| i reckon that is a tad high .........check what manuel says...adjust wait 4to6 hours then check again.......thats why we all say let the incubby have 24 hours for adjusting before use |

I run mine at 37.5 and the humidity at 45 until day 18 when i up the humidity up to 70 not sure what other people do!
But if your instructions say 38.5 i would stick to that....good luck! |

| i think temp is pretty much standard for most kinds of eggs (hens/bantams/turkeys/geese etc) I've got hen, bantam, geese and turkeys in my incs running at 37.5. it does depend on the make of inc but the temp should remain the same whatever size/breed of chicken you are incubating in it (some types are different such as ostrich at 35ish) |
