sorry, yet another help question. Do I need to making grit available for goslings. I think they are all different ages, one only a few days and the others a few days older, they are eating chick crumbs at the moment because that is what the farm store said we needed but I saw grit mentioned and wondered if they needed that too. I have just ordered a couple of books to help us but don't want them to miss out on anything they need until the books arrive

I never used to put grit out for my geese but then I had a variety of different areas for them to roam on and they could gather their own. I have to admit I never saw them picking up grit. The female geese would make a bee-line for the oyster shell container when they were in lay though. Why don't you supply it anyway and see how it goes?

I put oyster shells in the feed for our ducks and geese to ensure that get enough grit and calcium for their eggs - almost no cost and they are all healthy enough
