| Can anyone let me know if wood ants are a problem for chickens. I am currently clearing some woodland scrub at the bottom of the garden and intend to house about 6 - 8 hens there and there are a serious amount of ants milling around. Do they eat them? Could ant bites irritate their legs(they irritate mine!) Any feed back would be gratefully received, thanks. |

Never had this problem but at a guess I think chickens would be able to deal with them as long as there was no infestation actually in their coop.
The ants may well find themselves a new home if you disturb them too much. |
