this wasin my inbox this morning
A case of Blue Tongue has been confirmed at Skegness so the current surveillance zone has been extended to cover the whole of North Yorkshire. Farmers North of York will now be able to buy store stock as from midnight tonight.
Details of the exact position of the boundary have not yet been published on the DEFRA web site but should be available within the next 24 hours.
Kind Regards
The York Auction Centre |

We're expecting -9°C - -12°C this weekend here in Skåne, which is great!
Yeeks! The forecast has just changed... -15°C Sunday daytime! |

we have just found out in scotland the vacine will be compulsay which is good as i had spoken to someone who said they were not going to bother
although the islands maybe exempt ,
had a thought though if they order doses then goats have to be done 2 times a year well with me i'll have to get the 20x 2 doses and it has to be used withing 8 hours ,it'll be a waste of someboby elses vacine ,i wonder if something can be sorted though vets
or people who calve over a long period are going to have the same problem |

Can you not get everyone together locally and buy it in batches? So work out how many doses, when you will need to vaccinate and combine with someone elses order who needs to vaccinate at the same time? I know some parts of the country are going to be doing this as smallholders with 3 sheep or 1 cow will not want to purchase 20 doses, equally that will potentially be depriving someone else of a full order......... Why they couldnt issue it in more manageable quantities is beyond me I need about 250 doses, I can purchase the correct amount in 1 bottle of Heptavac but will have to buy 5 bottles of 50 doses so will work out hideously expensive in comparison. They are aware that there are small-scale farmers/hobbyists out there who dont need a full bottle. What a complete waste......... |
