Just interested in knowing how many chicks they hatch each year?

This year I had my lowest hatching rate ever (about 50%) and have hatched 34 chicks. Even so this should give me what I need for next year so unless they are all the wrong sexes/colours then that will be it until 2009.
I only have two or three breeding groups each year of about one cockerel to five hens.

Somewhere in the 30-60 range, depending on what's going on. This year will be at the upper end as I consolidate what we've got and concentrate on some new breeds for me.

I have 17 at the moment, but am only just starting hatching for the year, I have 14 more eggs under two broodies and a broody with nothing under her as there is no-where for her to sit.

I have had about a 80% hatch rate so far but it is going up as the year has gone on.

So far have hatched 33 - hoping to get at least a further 40-50 to build the freezer stock and also next years brreding flock to avoid buying in day olds, also planning for a replacemnt Maran Cockerel in 18-24 months time, certain members on this forum are guilty of leading me astray while supporting my new found enjoyment of looking after the animals!!!!!!!!!!!

No names but you know who you are.

I've hatched 160 so far, 60 of which were known cockerels - some are still too young to sex. I've kept a couple of banty welbar males and and a LF. I should have an unrelated banty brown leghorn cockerel too I hope.
