just dug the veg plot over and dug in last years chicken waste/garden waste compost....(lovely) ready for garlic and onions and maybe some other stuff.
Any suggestions with the sets to help them along  |

Bit of curled up left over poultry wire over the tops of them to prevent naughty birds (other birds are naughty too - not just chickens  ) pulling them out - they think they are worms Once the roots have started they can't do it any more.

| I always put sticks along the rows with empty plastic bottles stuck on the top to prevent birds from eating the tender shoots. |

I put a little pile of sand on top of each set and that stops birds pulling them out and marks where they are untill a green shoot grows.
