just dug the veg plot over and dug in last years chicken waste/garden waste compost....(lovely) ready for garlic and onions and maybe some other stuff.

Any suggestions with the sets to help them along Smile

Bit of curled up left over poultry wire over the tops of them to prevent naughty birds (other birds are naughty too - not just chickens Laughing ) pulling them out - they think they are worms Laughing Once the roots have started they can't do it any more.

I always put sticks along the rows with empty plastic bottles stuck on the top to prevent birds from eating the tender shoots.

I put a little pile of sand on top of each set and that stops birds pulling them out and marks where they are untill a green shoot grows.
