Us disabled lasses, very determined are we. Got tried of waiting for hubby to make me one so most of last week in free time and regular rest periods, I made my first coop.
Here's Magdy and her brood enjoying their new home.
Needs new roofing felt as it was too thin so thats being replaced.

Well done Laura...looking good.

You'd be better off taking the felt off and painting the roof with marine paint, red mite will get under the felt and breed very happily!!

You also need to, if you can, fix chicken wire to the underneath of the run...as it stands at the moment, a fox or rat could dig under, or even lift the run and get your chickens.
Confused

I disagree. I always use felt and it's about the only place I have never had red mite. I do creosote everything before putting any house together though and whenever I (or the wind) strip off old felt for replacement.
It's a first class house anyway.

I'd be very interested if a fox or a rat could live long enough in my garden to get to the coop in the first place lol. Nextdoor have 2 rabid jack russells and we have 9 Northern Inuit dogs, 1 staffie x collie and a very good ratter of a jack russell. It'd be the thickest fox or rat to come in this garden lol
I remember the last house. We moved in and it had mice. within 2 weeks we never saw trace of another mouse again lol
O and we have 4 killer cats aswell, serious Ratters, poor babes haven't seen a rat since we moved from stretford near the canal lol

Seriously, My garden is secure enough to keep 11 dogs contained. No fox is ever getting in here. My chucks are guarded by Wolves lol

Here's my daughter who is 6 with Keano who is 4 lol. He's 32/33 inches at the shoulder.

and here's Keano surfing the net. lol A true Silver Surfer lol

He's put on a fair few kilos since we got him back in October, he left us at 8 weeks old. but sadly his owners could not cope with his size and a new baby (I have 9 of these and had a litter the day before both my children were born! both of us, me and bitch, puffing away lol but each to their own copabilities)
