|
|
Hello
I hope someone can answer my question - I am a new and extremely proud owner of 3 chickens - we have built a house and a very large enclosure for them in our front garden. They seem to be very happy and no sign of illness but where we have situated their enclosure in beneath a large Yew tree in our garden - a neighbor last night told me that the leaves, the ground and the berries from the yew tree will kill my chickens - I now am really worried - please could someone let me know whether this is dangerous for them - they have been there for two weeks and seem very happy but I need to know whether I should move them - looking forward to any response. Many thanks Claire |

Hi Clair, and welcome.
Sorry I can not help you with the yew tree part. But someone on here...can't remember who at the moment...posted a link in the past about where to go to look at poisonous plants. Hopefully they will be on soon and give you the advice you are searching for. Until then, relax, grab a cuppa and go out and watch you girls be girls.........aren't they just amazingly amusing!?!? |

Deb
Thanks so much for your message - they are amazing - I'm really enjoying getting to know their characters - mine (Matilda, Harriet and Molly) seem extremely nosy and into everything - I spent 2 hours last night in the enclosure with them just watching them and talking to them - my boyfriend thinks I've gone mad - if he thinks I'm potty god knows what my neighbors think!! Thanks again for your response I will look out for that link. Take care Claire |

Hi Claire and to the forum.
Here's a link about Yew and potential toxicity.
Given they haven't shown any obvious signs of being ill, I wouldn't worry. But personally I would still move them anyway.
