My Geoff insists that the hemcore is to scratchy in the nest, so I put the straw in to keep him happy, (the hens don't seem to care) Stalosan. I don't use. I used a couple of bags of Auboise which is practically the same as Hemcore - hated it! The worst thing is that it blows around and floats on puddles etc and it never seemed to decompose. I much prefer the chopped straw and woodshaving mic that I use now, it's lots cheaper if nothing else.
