I put hemcore under my perches, and its 90% hemcore, 10% straw in my nest boxes. My Geoff insists that the hemcore is to scratchy in the nest, so I put the straw in to keep him happy, (the hens don't seem to care) Laughing

Stalosan. I don't use.

Not used hemcore - but have used Stalosan F for years. Really does make a difference.

Kills nasty niffs and pongs along with lots of bacteria and viruses. - So I've been told! I've just ordered my first bag.

I've just started using STalosan today so I'll report back in a few weeks.

I used a couple of bags of Auboise which is practically the same as Hemcore - hated it! The worst thing is that it blows around and floats on puddles etc and it never seemed to decompose. I much prefer the chopped straw and woodshaving mic that I use now, it's lots cheaper if nothing else.

I too have used Stalosan F since my very first chicken keeping days, I use the pink powder on the floors of all my coops and indoor areas. It neutralises odours, particularly ammonia, kills virii and fungi
