Hi all, just finished watching Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's 'Beyond River Cottage' and he was pee-ing, yes...urinating around sheds in which he keeps geese to keep the foxes away!! Shocked

Well, ok, he used a bottle of wee! Does anyone know if this works, and more interestingly, have you tried it!!!? Laughing Laughing

I hasten to add that I have no problems with foxes, and I have no intention of using my tiny garden as a toilet Rolling Eyes It occurs to me that maybe ladies' wee wouldn't work, perhaps it's the testosterone that scares them away.... Laughing

Off to grab OH before he visits the littlest room!!! Wink

yes apparentley it does work also another method is human hair tie it to the fence if you know a hairdresser just ask for any they may have at the end of the day anything that holds the scent of a human would deter them as they have a very strong sense of olfaction. Smile

AR does it too. And we've used human hair (mine, when I had it cut short!)
But you'd have to do it fairly regularly so the scent stays around. Any rain would wash it away.

As to whether it works - no idea, but it won't stop us trying. Wink

Out here you see chaps peeing all over the place in the countryside - must make it difficult for the foxes - may be why we have not seen one in 3 years!

I have a little boy who is only too willing to pee outdoors! I don't really mind if he's caught short but it's a bit embarressing as he can't yet use his fly, so passers by are treated to the sight of his little white bottom, with khaks round his ankles! Embarassed
Happen to have a man's bladder at my disposal, so I'll get him to baptise the place! clock (best I could find).

I don't think this would work in my area, the foxes don't seem to be the slightest bit afraid or even wary of humans Confused
A friend and her husband were sitting watching tv one evening only to suddenly realise there was a fox standing in the room watching their house rabbit hopping round the sitting room Shocked
This fox had come in through the open kitchen door and right into the sitting room Shocked
When my lot are ready to go outside I am getting my brother in law (a pest controller ) to sort any problems I have with foxes.
I have already informed a couple of local fox feeders Twisted Evil of my intentions.
I will of course try deterents like foxwatch, but any foxes that ignore them will be fair game Evil or Very Mad
