I thought you bought them from a poultry auction, or are these another two that you've rescued from somewhere?

pretty much the same thing in my eyes, they cost me £10 for the pair and the owner was going to kill them if they didn't sell.

I keep a few buffs, around 10, they are such lovely placid breed, and follow me around when let out of there run, have been known to come indoors and eat the dogs food , when you leave the door open.

Hi

I'm new on this forum .... and new to keeping orpingtons too! I have 3 gold laced orpington pullets.

My question is.... and forgive my ignorance but I am trying to learn as much as I can: to breed gold laced orps - do I mate gold laced with gold laced?

I have seen comments on blue, black, lavender etc. What are the rules on how to achieve colours etc.

Many thanks

hiya
i have an orpington.
trouble is, i got her at the same time as a cochin (both pullets) and i cant remember which is which! doh!

one of them is mostly white with grey tips to some feathers and the other is bluey grey. they are both beautiful!

my 5yo named them Henri(etta) and Purdey. after i finally got him to stop calling them fluffles and cuddles or whatever fluffy names he had for them that is!
