| Maybe you could make a card up showing what the current prices of eggs are in the main supermarkets in your area. That may be a subtle way of pricking consciences, as some people just have no idea what they currently pay. |

Sparklepeeps, I absolutely LOVE your egg boxes, especially the "Who laid your egg?" sticker. That is so sweet! Hope things keep going well for you.
I also sell eggs out of an honour box at the bottom of the drive. Last year I charged 1.70 Euro/6, this year 2.00 Euro. I feed 80% organic and 100% GMO-free and my birds are free range for all to see. (Certified organic eggs cost about 2.70-3.00/6 so it's still an ok price I think; feed has gotten soooo expensive!)
They literally walk out of the box, even though we are in a VERY rural area, 2 miles from the next village. I have standing orders for 5-6 packs a week and neighbours pick up the rest. It's nice to know some folks have not forgotten what real eggs taste like.

| Love the packaging! Seeing as I'm probably far away from you (Mid-Wales) can I copy it? |

I have done a very poor imitation of Sparklepeeps labels, it says
Eggs from happy bantam hens
then a picture here
£1 for 6 please return box
My OH takes them to work and they go like hot cakes, I figure putting a price on makes people feel comfortable, especially if like most, they have no idea how much half a dozen eggs costs! £1 is still good value for lovely eggs, even if they are a bit titchy!
I hope to upgrade my sticker to something more professional soon..... |

Oh wow, super packaging. I sell my eggs at work in recycled boxes (from Tesco Value to Asda Organic!) and ask for people to return the boxes. After the wheat price rises, I ask for £1.30 (Medium and Large Eggs) - most supermarket shoppers in our area pay around £1.25-£1.35 for free range (and that's ASDA Price ching ching) so are happy to pay that. Others insist on paying £1.50 as they enjoy the eggs so much.
One thing I would say to all is do not undersell your eggs. They are really worth more than the supermarket equivelent price as you do not have the production quantity and are normally fresher / better quality!

From this craft shop in Cheshire. Their website just shows teddy bears (which is ironic as the shop is only a small section of cuddly toys, but mostly ornaments and kitchen wares. )
There are a few different designs of hens in different poses. Im sure they would help you if you phoned as they are only a small craft shop, Im sure they would welcome your business. |

Now there's a new excuse for the forum - 'I loved the egg boxes so much I had to get more chickens to get eggs to put in them!'
Sure sign of a chick-a-holic in the making! |

Weather permitting, we're off to Merrydale Poultry to get two more this weekend. |
