Fish fingers and chips, is comfort food, and I suspect that Karen is needing that right now.....all the other meals are for grown ups. I know when I need comfort food, I need child type meals.....well chosen Mrs S, I say |

I occassionally do wedges but not a chip lover ! fish fingers is something I have as a snack for lunch.
Are you still limited to what you can digest Tony ? doesn't sound much to me and I have a small appetite suprising how you keep going on so little. I have some sweet potatoes to use I might do a similar dish with them |

not too badley limited on amounts i can eat more what i can eat, i can eat a whole weetabix for breakfast but can only manage half a slice of toast
lunch time i can manage a splendip or a small jaket potato but it also depends on the filling, baked beans = half jacket potato as aposed to low fat cheese = small jacket potato,
evening meal pasta is a no no, as is pastry (pie crusts) beef is a no no (unles its tinned mince) chicken has to be liquidised, fish is a no no, lamb if its been cooking all day is ok in very small doses
as for puddings!! what are they
as a snack i have 2 laughing cow triangles, or 2 fish / crab sticks.
i know it sounds like i cant eat a lot but i tell you what the smiles on my kids faces now that i can play with them is worth every minute spent in hospital |

I am so pleased you are enjoying your food again. I love cooking for everyone but don't eat much myself, I used to have a large appetite but I am fit and healthy so why worry ! I do have a problem with swallowing and my cough reflex but I am usually Ok if I have plenty of water to drink which is why I probably eat less somedays I cannot tolerate gluten and dairy others are Ok also have problems with seafood sometimes, I love eating out but tend to have 2 starters instead of a main and never been a pudding person so thats ok |

would love to, unfortunatley i cant afford to, the only catering courses around here are full time and if i go to college then i will be classed as a student and i lose all my benefits and wont be able to pay the mortgage, once i return to work i wont be able to do it as i wont be able to do a full time course as well as work, have already approached 30+ companies / resturants / hospital kitchens to see if they have vacancies for trainee cooks but have been told not that i am too old but that they prefer school leavers |

| we cannot get a chef here for the outdoor centre we have to use an agency but they are very good and when holidays etc are taken into consideration not much difference in cost. I thought maybe you could retrain and not lose out on benefits woth asking at CAB ? have you tried school kitchens ? or colleges |
