Spuds? Spuds! This is now a rhubarb post!

Yes I use the paper when making cards - it could be written on too.

Arghh! Trying again - confusing myself with trying to post urls and pics in the same post! The paper making went something like this: www.pioneerthinking.com/makingpaper.html

I got instructions from one of last year's Kitchen Garden magazines if anyone has them. You can use vegetables instead of using paper pulp. I tried with rhubarb - you can also use leeks, onions - including skins, straw, etc. You have to chop ingredients and boil with washing soda until fibres have broken down then rinse really well. Then use as paper pulp in instructions above. I have also made paper from shredding my junk mail and soaking overnight before blitzing it in my liquidiser. Pic shows rhubarb paper.

Well I thought I'd better read this, since it was the only one I hadn't read. Potatoes, Rhubarb and Paper. Try finding a suitable section for that Stephen Laughing

Very Happy French beans are really easy to grow and they taste fab , (steamed with melted butter ). you can get dwarf ones they don't take up to much room.

There is a Rhubarb meringue pie in one of the Nigella books ( I think domestic goddess) which is amazing but a bit complicated to make - could use bought pastry to simplify it I suppose though !

There is also recipe for rhubarb schnapps which I fancy having a go at making - sounds yummy

Heather

P.s I can copy out the recipes if anyone wants them but may take a while - am a 1 finger typist Rolling Eyes
