If you look back in the posts on the previous page, you'll see a photos taken a few weeks ago.
Nothing more recent than that at the moment. |

I had a conflab with Mojo today, and he says the lighter coq will produce progeny who lay the darker blue eggs (I think).
Anyway, I have 2 coqs, and Mojo has one hen. So, hen has come home with us and is now with Billy no mates in the original Sasso quarters. He gave a very good seeing to when they first met, and then began to notice that he was not "at home", that distracting him enouhg for her to get up and brush off her feathers poor girl.
Hopefully, will have some eggs to hatch later in the year. |

And this - because I haven't a clue how to post more than one photo at a time - is, what I have been told, is my Cotswold Legabar - she lays lovely pale pink eggs - again, when she can be bothered.

| Is "Cotswold Legbar" crossed with a Welsummer? We've got 2 birds that look just like that, and they were CLB X Welsummer. The one that's laying is pretty regular, and lays eggs that vary from brown with dark speckles through to ones with a pinky-blush laid-over the brown. Very pretty eggs, and a pretty bird! The other is still not yet laying, but should be soon. |

I've no idea, a friend took photos and showed them to a legbar breeder and was told that one was a Cream legbar and the other a Cotswold - her egg is a pink/peach blush over white. The cotswold hasn't the same amount of barring as the Cream and is peachier (if thats a word?) on the breast and head - shes also slightly bigger.

Can anyone help me, i'm becoming very confused. i am desperately after 5 cream legbar hens and an unrelated cock. (i'm a Novice at cream legbars, so dont please dont take the mick if i come out with something daft) But trying to find a good breeder is proving difficult. does anyone know of exhibition / breed standard quality breeders anywhere? where i can either get hatching eggs or young birds?
I was led to believe that all cream legbars have a crest and looking on the internet and talking to some breeders i have been informed that there are 'crested' and 'non crested' and the non crested being smaller and laying lighter eggs?!! and that they are made up from black rock crosses!!
please can anyone help |

| Cream legbars are crested. Full stop. If you look at some of the pics in this thread, you'll see some really good "typical" CLBs. I'll go back and have a look then post which ones are "best". |
