Hi guys
Last week at spana's i helped weigh last years calves then i had to type the weights on spana's computer.
In the mornings i had to go and let the hens out because spana can't get all the way up yard but the day we left the farm she was walking around with her cruches fine.
Then once i had let the chooks out i helped feed the South Devons and the highlands and ducks on the muel.
That was what i did at spana's sorry theres no pics |

sounds great Bradders! You're so lucky being able to do stuff like that. I actually know someone who's never seen a cow in real life!
What do your mates at school think about you having to work so much in your holidays? Do they just sit around the house with their wii's? |

Visited my farmer friends this morning.....I then helped (well, watched really. ) with an abcessed foot on a ram, ear-tagged 3 pigs before going to slaughter, picked out a hogget for the freezer in a months time, was told all about the cull ewes destined for cat food & the bullocks heading for Tesco c**p, whoops I mean Value meat!
And I only went for a couple of straw bales! |

| What a waste to send those cull ewes for cat food - I love mutton and find it really difficult to get hold of it. |

Never had mutton & I did query this but she said there was no demand around here for it.
However, I've been assured that the hogget will have a better, stronger flavour than lamb because of it's age. |

| It's delicious - has much more flavour than the rather anaemic lamb that's often for sale. The fat leaves a lot to be desired though and is better put out for the wild birds. |

Hi guys
It's me Bradders as spana coz nana's computer is playing up and won't let me log in as Bradders
Anyway, so far at spana's i've mucked out the chickens, fed the ducks, weigh the cattle, ear tag the new calve,Polly, the South Devon aswell as all that i've drove spana's muel round the farm. Today i found a nest with a hen sitting in it laying an egg in one of the barns and when it had finished me and spana went to have a look and it had 14 eggs in it some of them were broken aswell, they were quite smelly.
We have a straw lorry coming tomorrow and i'm going home Saturday afternoon. |
