We used to keep about 60. But we only have 10 texel ewes now with a charolais tup for ease of lambing. Our Texels used to be pedigree but it got too expensive for the benefits so we stopped. And pure Texels are very difficult to lamb, we used to have to assist nearly every one.

We keep Shetlands. They are brilliant to look after. They lamb easily, are hardy, they can lamb indoors but all choose outside ! Sadly they all have names as well, we don't eat them but I have heard that Shetland meat is very tasty

we have Soays, 3 lambs 2 ewes 1 ram, 4 horned Hebs 2 lambs and a ram, 2 Jacob X gimmers, they are all pets, we have only had them a few months so it is all new to me, love them to bits easier them the goats, my breads have to stay out all year Crying or Very sad I hate it when they have frost on they backs,

Gillie one of the Jacob X so so friendly lovely girl
