14 ducks that is - picked up the other 8 tonight, 4 are of mostly khaki campbell extraction, the others are 'yon speckledy looking eens oot yonder' that may get green heads like mallards if they are drakes. They are now 4 days old and in a plastic crate in the shed next to the wee/week and a half old 6 we already had who live with our one surviving maran chick. There is no hope!

so, are they all going for a swim in the bath tomorrow ? Do they have names yet ? Have we got pictures of them yet? And how many are you sending to Knobby?
Seriously, somebody had to look fter them, and as you're already a duck mummy, you can count like a chicken,one.....two.....lots ~ that's how chicken mummies count apparently

They were hatched under a duck - he has left her with one baby and wanted rid of the rest! Just call us duck rescue!

Here are the older gang getting their swim today:

and the babies:

I am keeping them seperate for just now - don't want anything passing between them. Paranoia is me after the marans.

thank you so much for the pictures ~ they're all lovely. The poor little new ones look a little lost don't they ~ must be scary for them losing their mum so soon. Never mind you'll just have to sit and cuddle them and talk to them. They almost look as big or bigger than some of your older ones. Good luck with them, keep us informed

Wasn't that warm but the big ball of fire did put in an appearance. We had a coffee afternoon at the special unit today so it was nice to be able to put a couple of tables outside. By the time I had been at work, run some errands, done the supermarket and got home to cook tea I was cream crackered! Then we had to go fetch the new ducks! Kirsty was home on study leave so she played with the ducks and the paddling pool while revising for her PE higher tomorrow.

Didn't take much persuading! lol! OH was half way there when he told me about them - otherwise he would have just said no to the guy straight away and never mentioned it to me. There had better be a good duck ratio here - don't want 14 drakes! Oh and they are a quite a bit smaller than the others.

And I'm keeping the sun for the weekend when I can enjoy it! Not that anyone has told the weather that!
