Mmmm...I've had 2 pairs of cat boots - both fell apart within 3 months Took the second pair back and the guy couldn't believe I'd had 2 duff ones. I wear a pair of Karrimor gore-tex walking boots most of the time - really comfy, lightweight and they seem to be lasting well - over 2 years now (as a size 13 I do find that ordinary shoes/trainers/boots don't last long, they just ain't strong enough).

Layla, do the outers last as long as the leather lining? |
Well so far sooo good i have had them two years now and the only bit that seems to be looking a little tired is the top where you pull them on with your fingers. I love my wellies practicly live in them

Mine are orange and green, they are the industrial jobbies, chainsaw resistant etc. Hand made with real rubber. Had some of the cheapies but they split in a couple of weeks |

Apart from Hunter wellies without the liner which ONLY get worn when its totally waterlogged everywhere(to keep me jeans bottoms dry ) I use Cat boots mainly 'sheffield'. Every pair I have had have lasted nearly two years of daily hard wear when I was operating JCB's or mini-diggers and had in excess of 10 miles of road walking a day on top of work duty -the only reason they wore out was because the tread wore down, the leather has never cracked split leaked or the stitching come undone though admittedly the laces need replacing occasionally.I think thats pretty good for industrial work boots.I always get a good deal off Caterpillar when I buy them direct too.
The only other boots I will use are Blundstones and Thomas cooks which I get direct from Australia.I havent found anything else that comes close in terms of value durability and comfort to Caterpillar.
I cant stand wellies really but sometimes they have their uses.

cheapest i can buy ,green ,i'm always putting holes in wellies but of course i solve the problem by putting a carrier bag over my socks to keep them dry ,here i tend to wear wellies continuously when i'm not at work ,does that make me sound tight ,in fact we had a dressing up day a couple of times at work and i wore my wellies to work ,dressed up as a crofter ,disinfected wellies well of course |

We could try it as a seperate thread but the number of members qualified to post would be cut in half |

| Cheap green wellies for me as once the cleats have worn down they have to go. Steep wet slopes require a good grip. I have also got a pair of pink flowery ones - bought in a sale, same price as cheap greens, but one a slightly darker colour that the other as it had been outside the shop on display! |

| Ive got two pairs, Some purple Hunters which I hardly ever wear because they are a struggle to get on. But my 'nip up the garden' wellies are cream with pink and yellow flowers on them. |
