Oh Deb I'm sorry, how old is she? Could you see anything wrong with her, could it have been the heat?

Puff is now enjoying the land of the rainbows....as Knobby would say.

OH is out on the road, so had to go dig the grave by myself. I always cry when I have to do that. I put her in her favorite spot that she would sit outside and sun herself. It was a beautiful sunset to mark her passing and burial.

Summayah, it could have been the heat, but more than likely it was just old age. She was one of my rescues a couple months back. She passed a happy chook, knowing what a clean loving home was like.

Thanks George.

Nanny P, not sure how old she was. I rescued her from a bad home. She never laid an egg and never had her comb and waddles pinken up after the rescue.

Thanks Fangs, yes it is always hard, no matter how many times you go through it.

Thanks Lisa, Knobby and Jakki.

Thanks Joe. Life on the farm...alone most of the time...has forced me to be strong. Not that I like it much. But I would rather see her laid to rest than sitting there waiting for someone else to show up....if they do.

Well done you for giving her the chance to live a happy life - even if it was just for a little while. Sorry it wasn't longer.
