Breaking news...
Another confirmed case, at Thetford. Previously one of the Dangerous Contacts, so birds have already been culled.

That has me bracketed now . I live right in between the two PZs, fortunately my birds are kept 3 miles away, to the ENE. The BBC reporting on this news is atrocious - I have just watched the report on Look East and they are still pushing the wild birds vector .
These turkeys were all culled on Friday so there shouldn't be any problem from them. Proof that the hygiene/biosecurity practised by Redgrave Farms is negligent though, if they have transitted it from one holding to another.

Thanks . Wish they would say where the fifth farm is though...
This makes interesting reading http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4721598.stm I have only just found it but it has been there for quite a while. The thing is, I sent a rather snotty email to the BBC East newsroom in Norwich last week pointing out the lack of evidence for wild birds being the source despite their repeated reports that "wild birds are most likely to be the vector". .

| Quote: | | An additional Dangerous Contact (DC) premises is planned to be culled. The cull will include 53,000 ducks, 9,000 geese and 1,000 turkeys all housed indoors has been linked to the initial outbreak due to the movement of workers. |
From the NFU AI Update email today. Defra don't seem to be giving numbers yet . That'll take a fair while whichever is right. I am guessing that it must be the Kerry Foods site as I've never been sure if the same staff worked in the packing plant and on the farm. Apparently some of the birds at the first case at Redgrave Park were supplied by this latest site to be culled .

Found out today where the latest cull is - Grange Farm, Redgrave, which I've added to the map. It is the same site as the Kerry Foods packing plant . Why are poultry workers from one group of five farms living on a sixth poultry farm .
