Just called the vet, and he's on his way. I got the first bit all in Swedish, and then ran out of words, and had to switch to English. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Nigel's not coping with the stress very well.

It's been a very very very long day, and many thanks to Suz for being there for us on the phone.

To cut a long story short, she was in trouble this morning, and had to be taken to the operating theatre for an emergency caesarian. She had two kids, one of which has since died after it's mum collapsed on it whilst still recovering from anaesthesia.

We're feeling a little bit rubbish at the moment, it's just been a long stream of "couldn't get worse" followed by worse. It wasn't meant to be like this.

I'm not surprised that you both feel like rubbish, you've been through the worst first kidding that it's possible to get Sad
The problem Snovit had could never have been predicted and was a total fluke.
I feel really sorry for both of you and hope everything goes OK with them from now on

Sorry to hear that it ended up being so traumatic. I hope the surviving kid and Snovit come on in leaps and bounds!

Poor Snövit, kids & poor you 2! What a horrendous start to keeping goats! Shocked

I hope all will be well from now on. I think I would be feeling a bit rubbish too after all that. Rolling Eyes

Is the surviving kid a boy or girl?

This morning the little one is fine, bouncing around, happy, and feeding. According to the pictures we have, though, it aint a girl...

Snövit seems brighter today, has had her injection of antibiotics, and some apples.

Fingers crossed.
