What can you do with it?
Someone on my local freecycle is offering some that will only be burnt if no one want's them, which seems a waste.
I don't do spinning! Any other uses? |

| I read in the organic way mag, that it was also used as a natural garden mulch. It would be criminal to burn it... Also if left in a bush in early spring maybe nesting birds would pull bits out to use in nests? |

it is now classed as a grade 3 catagery waste
farmers are not allowed to burn or bury it it has to be processed
or we have to pay for it to be taken away ,
great insulation ,
you could always wash it and use it to stuff pillows
carn't you use it without spinning it to felt |

You can use it to line hanging baskets. Or I have several under the bath used as insulation cos it got draughty and cold! it does compost, although slowly! but you could probably use it in a no dig bed as the bottom layer. Put under runner bean plants or other water loving veg. to hold moisure and stop soil drying out ('cos that's going to happen loads in this weather isn't it!) Learn to spin???!!!! Dye it and Felt it for pictures or wall-hangings. Make a draught excluder......... I'm running out now!! |

| We have our own water supply from a bore hole. I use fleece to insulate the pipes where they are above ground but before they enter the house. Wrap fleece round pipes then encase in heavy plastic bags (I used fertilizer bags). Tie with billyband. |
