Despite a visit to the vet today, Bella has died from her deep & nasty wounds. Crying or Very sad

Angel is still very poorly but has been eating & drinking a little so there is a bit more hope for her recovery. I have to take her back to the vet on Thursday.

Polly, who was very subdued seemed a bit brighter this afternoon.

So sad to hear your news.
I've had to move all my breeding pens to a farm a mile away and have the fear that the fox has been whilst I've been away.

The fear is bad enough to cope with let alone with the reality.

I'm really sorry for you and your poor birds.

Jakki,

Sorry not to have caught up with this earlier - we've had a few 'puter probs, but sorted now. What lousy news, I remember that at the PK meet you were a bit concerned about possible fox attacks but hoped that it was resolved. Loads of (((((hugs))))) from Pam and me. We hope that the worst is over soon and that the rest of the flock keeps safe.

Thinking of you,

Colin

OK - Was just sitting in the living room with the laptop. Heard a commotion outside in the grower pen. Bloody fox was running up and down trying to get in. Well, I just turned into a raving lunatic! Ran out the door but stupidly forgot to grab a spade on the way. I got to within 3 feet of the fox and would have belted him with whatever I had in my hand. This is probably the b***tard that has been taking my hens over the years. Damn - if only I could have taught him a lesson....

Yeah - It was mad - like he was just ignoring me. I think they see the chickens and just have one thing on their mind. Its not safe to let the hens free range even if I am around. This fox looks like he would just wait in the bushes and grab one when I'm not looking...
