| I feel your pain brother! Fox took my rooster I raised from a chick last week while we were in the kitchen. Its lockup for the forseeable future with some supervised free ranging! |

OMG i cant believe your trapping badgers ! Cant you compensate & find good way to keep them out ?? Hate foxes, but badgers, always had a soft spot for them & they are now so rare over here due folks hunting them.
But yes, i do know, our chooks must come first.

| yes the badgers here are very aggresive the only thing that i like about them is that they kill all of our gophers but other wise i hate them cause they have been killing my animals...so im just gunna have to catch them and put them to rest with a bullet shell in there head |

well youve tried that angle ,could you not get electric fencing ,
are badgers protected there ,here they are and you can get put in prison, lots of farmers are loosing whole herds of cows to tb ,another auguement and one that really dont want to get into here ,i know how i feel about it
if you fenced you're fowl with stock fence
got plastic pegs which you nailed on to posts ,about 8 /9 inches up and another on the top ,it could be done fairly cheaply ,then you would need an energizer ,most peditors would look else where for an easier meal
the trap is called a larson trap ,you trap one magpie and the others come and attack it ,then you kill the ones you catch, keeping one
bear in mind you have to check larson traps every 24 hours and must feed and water the magpie/crow ,
ps ,im not adverse to shooting ,sometimes something else has to be done plus shooting as you seem to be loosing a lot of birds |
