We were given a pretty orchid for Easter, it has flowered well but the last flower is jut about to drop off now leaving us with a pot of two leaves, and a big stalk sticking out of it.

I have absolutely no instructions on how to look after it, some one told me that you hardly ever need to water them.

Anybody know any thing?

I'm no expert but I think it depends on the type of orchid. Some are easier to care for than others.

I believe the current 'in' orchids that seems to be sold everywhere are the Phalaenopsis or the Cymbidium.

Try this link.

oooh, that was handy thank you. I need to cut the flower spike soon, and put it ouside in the sun in July to encourage the growth of a new flower spike.
