They're Pygmy goats - two neutered males and just 12 weeks old. They are so playful and really tame, they're not much bigger than our light Sussex chooks.

They love being stroked and go all relaxed when you brush them - they'll not get too big.

Stuart the farmer we got them from has a few "pets" - he has a Pygmy ram, and when we were over earlier in the year was worried that quite a number of his ewes appeared not to be pregnant and he couldn't work out why. They were fit healthy vendean sheep - quite a big breed.... his little Pygmy ram had gotten in with them but at less than a quarter of their size Stuart couldn't believe he managed anything, but he had - the ewes must have knelt don or the ram found a log to stand on, but there are all these teeny tiny little balls of fluff now about half the size of regular new born lambs..

I think what he was saying is that in addition to pygmy goats, this chap had a pygmy ram (sheep) who got to his normal sized sheep.... which became obvious when halfpint lambs were born... Am I correct ejc?

We saw some non-pygmy goats yesterday (Nigel just corrected me, apparently they "are a small goat, but not pygmy goats. They are called Swedish Göinge Goats"). And they said these gave good milk, and we started to get tempted (yup, I did say we...). How much milk do you get from small goats?
