Our ewes are must mucking arround ! 8 are now bagged up & ready to go yet nothing happening, bloody frustrating when there are lambs popping up at all our neighbours.

have 1 lass im keeping a very close eye on, shes the oldest ewe (5 or 6) with twins at least ! she is huge so wouldnt be surprised if its 3, but as shes old she'd not manage. She's gone off alone to a corner this eve, so its 30 min checks for her tonight so we dont leave a cade lamb out in the fog.

another night of no sleep as she'll just walk off and leave them.
If she does it again this year she's not going to the ram next year

Twins are fine ! racing over the field already. Looks like playmates will be appearing shortly, keeping checks on 8 ewes tonight, 4 of them first timers but nice canny lasses at that, one of them seems to have really taken to me & doesnt leave my side if im in the field, she was most upset when I came home for a while ! but she's still got hrs to go, may not even go till morning.

Another fantastic set of twins at 4am today & a bonny single ewe lamb at 5.45am which we are having to help out with as mum is a first timer & isnt all that keen on letting her feed, so they are in the pen, we milked mum & tube fed to make sure baby got collestrum, if we have to do the same at lunch time, she is coming home with me.

We had to do that this morning with one of the first timers, she'd done a half job of cleaning her wee lass, must have had a hard time with her as the lamb had a good covering of menconioum, so i helped out a bit via bucket of warm water & a face cloth as it was going to dry on rock hard.

Poor first time mum was very much " what on earth is that !" and moved away everytime the wee lass tried to feed, so we had to take her to the wee pen, milk mum (which was so easy it came as a shock !) tube feed the lil un, who was starting to weaken, give the wee lass a kiss, few words of encouragment for mom & came away to leave them to it.

Went back at lunch time expecting to find weak lamb & a need to tube feed again, and was welcomed by suckling lamb with a nice full belly & a very protective mum. But sigh of relief ! So very quickly did the tail band, another kiss on the head & let them both back into the field where they continue to do just fine.
