The incubator thermometer on our nice new bator is fastened to the inside of the top of the bator in a neat tube, secured with a cable tie. A little hard to read when the bator was closed but we managed.
A friend wants to borrow the bator so was checking everything was there and re-reading the instructions. There it was - 'insert the thermometer in the hole on the upper part of the appliance keeping it in a perfect vertical position.' Oops - anyone want to bet the temp in the bator wasn't right? and that the tube was packaging?

It probably wasn't massively out though, if it was inside the incubator anyway, it would just change the reading slower than it normally would
The air inside it's protective tube would warm to the same temperature as the rest of the incubator |

| Thanks George. Although I don't want to be the cause of the prob - it would be nice in a way to think I had solved the prob. Bit of a double edged sword. |

| These are hilarious in places mojo - translated literally from Italian! Only eggs being raised around here at the moment are under broodies - both in teh same box and one keeps stealing the eggs so will have to go seperate them soon. |
