| They can stay in the bator for the first 24 hours without eiterh Estelle. So don't panic before tomorrow! Have you got your brooder set up and warm? |

When mine came out of the incubator they got water and food, but then they had stayed in there for the first day, so knobby was actual over a day old at the time
Though they were trying to drink out of the water trough in the incubator |

In all honesty I have never left them for 24 hours in the bator - although I know you can - can't resist them that long! I would make food an water available to them in teh brooder - we always dip their beaks in the water when putting them in so they know what it is and where to find it. For the first few days we put marbles in the water too so it is not too deep - they drink from the gaps.
My brooder for new chicks is a plastic toy box with a desk lamp for heat and paper towels on the bottom - doesn't have to be fancy. |
