I think its a great idea

I belong to a rescue site for a breed of dog and they do this and they also raise funds for good causes by having photo comps and auctions on the forum too, items donated by members....its a great way to raise funds Very Happy

This is a joint response from myself and Nigel:

First, we'd like to say that unless the wolf is really at the door (not very likely!) this will never become a subscription only site.

For the last two years we have just about broken even using Google and Amazon income only, and in our first year the surplus was donated to charity. Since last October ad revenues have dropped significantly. The amount we used to receive from Google alone was enough to pay for all the hosting costs. The Amazon income basically allowed us to advertise the website to bring in new members, as we appreciated that any forum needs new members!

From some of the posts in this thread we appreciate that some people are not in a position to use Amazon, etc and would instead prefer to make a small donation.

For anyone wishing to make a donation there will be a small discrete Paypal logo on the front page of the website. We will also re-introduce the "traffic lights" that we had in the early days of the forums to give an indication of how we're doing.

It was never our intention to take anything off our members, and certainly when I added the extra advertising I didn't think it would really get any attention, but we are greatly touched that there is concern about the websites.

on the paypal page it asks you to put in your "Poultry keepeper" name

When you are redirected it says you need to log in to view that page ?

Ok, that name should now be fixed.

The second, I can't easily fix without breaking our farm shop. Sad
